WELCOME BACK
After seeing last night's game, WOW! Glad the Yankees are back in the Bronx. The 2nd inning of last night's game was like a Home Run Derby. Once again A-ROD proves he is a great hitter in this league. Maybe this series against the Indians will tune us for the Boston game this weekend. Boston is a solid team, the Yankees still need help. But this is good starting point. The bombers can hit the cover off the ball, but as we can see over this season we still need help in the pitching area. Just like Dorothy said, " There is no place like home," I think this is good for the Yankees to get back to what Yankees baseball is about, before this weekend. I know it is still early but the Boston series will be a good point to see how the rest of the season will be.
GO YANKEES!!!!

Do we really have to go through the whole AR thing again here? The kid was decent, the pen was strong and varied, the offense was powerful, and Jeter had no errors. Starters are said to be recovering, and while they do so we get to open the gift box once in a while and out pops a kid who manages to carry the can for the required distance. Problem is, it'll cost the Yanks 27 million or more to keep him from opting out of his contract.
Kudoes to A-Rod but let's hear it: "Hip-hip...JORGE" !!! Derek is the Captain of this Yankee team but Jorge is the glue. What he does day in and day out is strongly felt by his teammates and fans. A true Yankee in every sense.
SANJAYA clearly deserves to go home after this week's uninspired performance. But something tells me that he's safe.
It's funny that with all the talk of our pitching woes, there seems to be little talk of Mr. Matsui. As a matter of fact, I'm not sure of the extent of his injury, or when he's projected to be back.
Mats has been a quiet, but consistantly clutch .850 OPS performer. With Melky in there, we give up 100-150 pts of OPS, 20 HRs and many RBIs. Yet I hear little about us 'missing' Matsui.
Are we that in love with his youth?
The better glove and great arm?
We're happy to suffer Giambi's defense for (hopefully) better offense. We would never replace Jeter and his poor glove with AGon, even though SS is a more important defensive position the LF.
Matsui seems invisible. Am I wrong? He seems to be forgotten.
