REAL FANS
This is a very broad area of discussion for many. I am a fan of the yanks to the end. Bad or Good. I have been rooting for the PINSTRIPES all of my life (as I can remember) The 1980's were rough for US PINSTRIPES. Big George S, fired and hired at will. Like Billy Martin. I loved Billy Martin's style. Joey T is the closest we have.
I know the some folks out there doubt how LOYAL I am. Just to give you some information for LOYAL I am. I know some people out there are Band Wagon FANS. I know living out in Sacramento California, you see this a lot. But I will tell to MY READERS OUT THERE THIS YANKS FAN THAT LIVES IN CALI, IS A TRUE YANKS FAN.
I have been with the yanks since 1977, I was 7 years old, and it was about this time when I started watching sports. So I would have to say I have always been a YANKS FAN all my life.
Another thing I have notice out in CALI is people cheer for their TEAM for American and National League. But I know the TRUE YANK FANS, Are not a METS FAN. I have been to some Oakland A's games, because I love baseball. I see some Oakland FANS in the seats with SF GIANTS Gear. You would never see that in the BRONX, you would't see a Yanks Fan wearing METS Gear!
Sorry to disappoint my FANS out there, but NO SPANKIN TODAY!!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with following one team, then switching to another. It's a baseball team, not an adopted child. My fav was the 1986 New York Mets, what do you think about that? And sometimes I route for the Oakland A's. Sometimes it is because of a particular player going from one team to another. I mean what if your beloved A-Rod went somewhere else? Would you hate him then? Why not remember that baseball is a game, and stop treating it like a religion. Most of the wars in this world have been caused by religion, because they take it way too seriously, like you...taking the Yankees too seriously. Spank that! You probably only like the Yankees cause that's what your father told you to like.
