CALI CONNECTION
MANY OF YOU MAY BE WONDERING HOW OR WHY DOES THIS CALIFORNIA KID LIKE THE YANKEES. I GUESS IT GOES BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD. (ENTRY MEAN NO SPANKIN) I CAN REMEMBER YOU WERE EITHER AN OAKLAND A'S FAN OR YANKS FAN.
I GUESS ANOTHER REASON I AM A DIE HARD YANKS FAN, BECAUSE I GO FOR TEAMS THAT I LIKE NOT WHERE I LIVE. I AM NOT A FAN THAT JUST GOES FOR TEAMS THAT ARE IN YOUR TOWN, OR BECAUSE EVERYONE LIKES THE TEAM.
I HAVE ALWAYS GOT FLACK ABOUT THIS, BUT I TELL PEOPLE I CAN'T CHANGE JUST BECAUSE. I CAN ONLY TELL YOU THE FACTS; THE YANKS ARE THE BEST TEAM OF ALL TIME, 26 RINGS...HALL OF FAMERS, AND FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS, DEREK JETER AND A-ROD.
IF I WAS A BETTING MAN, I WOULD BET THAT A-ROD BREAKS AT LEAST TWO RECORDS, THE HOME RUN RECORD, AND THE 50/50, 50 HOME RUNS AND 50 STOLEN BASES IN A SEASON. SOME PEOPLE WANT TO TRADE A-ROD I WOULD SAY HELL NO. HE IS A ONE OF THE POWER HITTERS IN THE LEAGUE THAT DOES PRODUCE. I SAY HE JUST NEEDS A LITTLE PUSH IN THE PLAYOFFS.
THE YANKS DRAFTED ANOTHER FACT THAT I HAVE A YANKEE CONNECTION, ONE OF MY CLASS MATES IN HIGH SCHOOL BACK IN 1989. HE SPENT A FEW YEARS IN THE MINORS THEN GOT BROUGHT UP IN 1996, HIS ROOKIE SEASON HE GETS WORLD SERIES RING. HOW SWEET IS THAT!!!!!

The way I see it, it is easy to be a fan of the 'BEST TEAM OF ALL TIME' as you put it. For me, I think the true test of a fan is if you can stick with a team in good times and bad. A true fan thinks of the team as part of your family, so you support them through thick and thin. Maybe I am biased because I love the A's! Nice blog, I hope you miss a deadline soon :)
I have to admit, I am skeptical about a Yankee fan from California. It's easy to be a Yankee fan since they win all the time. And if you're not out here on the east coast, can you really understand what we're all about? Your blog seems cool though, so I'll give you a chance. But if you slip up and reveal you're not the yankee you claim, I might need to ask your brother to bring down the spank.
